Kitchen Line Brief

Commercial kitchen equipment and layout guides for U.S. restaurant operators: workflow, cooking gear, walk-ins, and dish stations.

Privacy Policy

Kitchen Line Brief publishes guides about commercial kitchen equipment, kitchen layout and restaurant build-out. This policy starts with what you can control, because that is usually what people came to find. Updated October 7, 2026.

What you can control

  • Personalised ads. Switch them off in Google Ads Settings, or use aboutads.info and the Network Advertising Initiative to opt out of many other advertising vendors.
  • Cookies. Change your choices through the cookie notice on the site or in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may make parts of a page behave differently.
  • Your data. Ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you through the contact form.
  • Marketing mail. We do not send any unless you explicitly asked for it, and every message carries a way to stop.

What we collect

There are only three kinds of information:

  1. What you send. A name, an email address and a message if you use the contact form, plus a name and comment text if comments are enabled.
  2. What your browser sends. IP address, device and browser type, the page you requested, the page that referred you, and timestamps.
  3. What cookies record. Identifiers used by analytics and advertising services, and the record of your cookie choices.

What we do with it

We use it to publish and secure the site, to reply to people who write to us, to understand how readers use the guides, to show advertising, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information for money and we do not use your messages for marketing.

Advertising partners

Advertising is served by third parties, mainly Google. These vendors use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s earlier visits to this site or others. Google’s advertising cookies, such as the DoubleClick DART cookie, let it and its partners show ads based on visits to this and other sites. Each partner has its own privacy policy and we do not control its cookies. Google explains its practices at how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Rights under US and European law

If you live in California you can ask us to disclose, correct or delete personal information and you can opt out of its sharing for advertising. If you are in the EEA or UK you can also object to processing, restrict it, request a portable copy, withdraw consent and complain to your data protection authority. We respond to verified requests made through the contact form, and we never penalise anyone for making one.

Retention, security and children

Contact messages are generally kept for up to two years; technical logs are kept for much shorter periods. The site uses HTTPS and limited access, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. The site is not meant for children under 13 and we delete anything we learn was collected from one.

Third-party sites and changes

We link to other websites and cannot answer for their practices. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Questions are welcome through the Contact page.
